I have my car back :) Total cost of repair: $215 (includes $45 for the tow). That's in the range that I expected, plus it was more convenient than I'd hoped, so overall it's okay. Basically a brake pad came unglued from its backing and got jammed where it shouldn't have been. The guy was very nice and suggested that I get new front tires soon (he doesn't sell tires- it's not a scam) because one of the tire belts is broken, causing my car to wobble at higher speeds. I'm probably going to try to do that before I drive to Philly.
