Thanksgiving was pretty good. It involved a lot of time in a car (though Ryan drove) because we went down to Ithaca to pick up Arjun, then back up to Homer, then back to Ithaca to drop him off. It started snowing just before we left Syracuse, and was on and off all day. It's snowing right now, in fact, although there's less than an inch of total accumulation. Not the first snow of the year, however; a couple weeks ago we got about two inches overnight.
But back to Thanksgiving. There were many assorted mishaps, but it made for a lot of laughs. For some reason food kept jumping onto the floor. Me and Ryan were the ones to transfer the turkey from the oven to the platter, and it was overdone, so it fell apart on us. Most of it made it to the platter, but the rest landed on the floor. A big glob of mashed potatoes fell on the carpet near the table. One of the cats jumped up on a table and started eating a block of cheese (I don't know why it didn't go after the turkey instead). Arjun got seeing-double drunk off one glass of wine, and Ryan dropped a Lego into his soup. But it was all in good fun. It was just Ryan's mom and us "kids" (me, Ryan, Arjun, Sean, Abe, and Peter), so we didn't worry about a sense of decorum.
We were all supposed to write down what we were thankful for this year, fold it up, put it in a basket, and then each person picks one out of the basket and tries to guess who wrote it. Let's see if you can match them up:
