If you ignore the gory factor, that's really cool! But if you'll notice, the procedure was done in Europe. It couldn't have been done in the U.S. because a certain ignorant president has outlawed all stem cell research because the religious right groups pulling his strings perceive too strong a connection between stem cells and abortion. Any reputable biologist can tell you that stem cells have next to nothing to do with abortion. "No fetuses were harmed in the collection of these stem cells!" The closest thing is that unfertilized eggs leftover from fertility treatments are used. You can make a case for a fetus having human rights, but unfertilized eggs are definitely no more alive than any other single cell in your body.
Bah. I'm going to be in a bad mood until Bush is out of office. Vote for Kerry, please.
